After all, it’s the holidays! Everyone’s businesses take a downturn, right?
You can actually be just as successful in your business during the holidays, and even more successful than normal, if you head into the holidays with the proper mindset.
How to Enroll Clients Over the Holidays
Most people assume that they’re not going to sign any new clients over the holidays, which leads them to not put forth much effort in attracting new clients. They tend to take more time off than normal, because they just assume that the holidays are a slow time for business so why bother?
But clients ARE there and they need your services at all times throughout the year!
If you assume you won’t find any during the holidays, then that’s what you’ll get. Conversely, if you assume you WILL find some, then that’s what you’ll get!
It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Make a DECISION right now that the holidays are going to be as successful a time for you as ever.
Decide that you are unavailable for any dips in your income, and that you will make as much money as you do throughout the rest of the year, or even more so! Then, write out a detailed plan about how you’re going to make this happen.
• How many new clients do you want to sign up?
• How many sales calls will this require?
• What other steps will you need to take to make this happen?
Treat the holidays as any other time of year, and DECIDE you’re going to be successful during this time of the year.
Everyone else takes off during the holidays, but there are still clients out there who need your help.
They will see and hire YOU if you’re out there conducting business as normal, while everyone else is laying low and waiting for the New Year to hit.
(This doesn’t mean don’t take off any time for the holidays. However, you don’t have to automatically assume that you won’t make any money and stop all business activities until January.)
The holidays are also a great time to offer sales on any products or services you are offering, which will allow you to bring in additional money and clients. Not to mention, many people will be gearing up to tackle their New Year resolutions and if you’re already in the game you will be well-positioned to get clients who want a head start!
Next, think about how you typically approach the holidays in terms of spending.
Most people go WAY overboard in terms of buying gifts for others, usually out of a sense of obligation or guilt.
This year, before you spend any money on gifts, decide EXACTLY how much you’re going to spend. Come up with an amount you’re comfortable with, and do NOT exceed that amount no matter what.
When you’re out shopping, only buy things that will allow you to stay within that range. If you notice yourself wanting to purchase something that is more expensive than you had planned, tune into your body and notice what is happening.
Are you buying the gift out of a sense of obligation, or trying to impress the other person? Are you buying it out of a sense of guilt for something you did earlier in the year?
Tune in and notice if the reason you are being this particular gift is coming from a genuine, heartfelt place or a different place.
If it doesn’t feel good to you, then put that item back and find an item that feels better to you (and is within your pre-decided budget) and deal with whatever emotion (obligation, guilt, etc.) was coming up.
The holidays do NOT have to be a time where you spend too much and don’t make enough in your business. DECIDE and intend that it will be different this year, and then follow through on that.
It all starts with your mindset and choosing what you want to happen, versus focusing on what has happened in the past or what other people experience.
Are you ready to change your relationship with money and absolutely ENSURE that you make more money this holiday season and head into 2015 as an irresistible magnet to money and miracles?
